shake it up!

Introducing my sort of new iPod:

Are you thinking you might be seeing something engraved? You are correct. It is the free engraving offered by Apple. So what if it's invisible to the naked eye. It was free and I know it's there. It's from a favorite Joni Mitchell song: No regrets, Coyote.

Here's what I discovered the other day -- I can 'shuffle' my biking playlist. About 99.8 percent of the time, I ride my road bike on the bike trail that goes along the American River toward Sacramento. It is a fantastic bike trail. Really. But, I've ridden it many, many times. You'd be surprised how much of a difference it makes to let the iPod spirits do their shuffle magic on an oft played playlist. Well, it's like falling in love all over again. :)

Dear Red World AIDS Day iPod Nano, I love you.

I love biking on the bike trail - it was one of the big selling points to coming back to Sacramento. Hope you keep finding it fun and inspiring!

I went for a 30 mile ride today. Aside from a pretty good head wind at times, it was such a great day to be on the trail. Wild flowers, wild turkey, grazing deer, oaks with new bright green leaves...the river flowing.

Maybe I'll see you on the trail some day.

If you have a lot of songs on your ipod try turning on the 'Genius' function. You need to activate it in Itunes first. Genius actually plays tracks in a particular genre and keeps the playlist from alternating between genres too much. I am a cosmetic surgery doctor from Mumbai, India and I have to run everyday and my ipod is my sole companion! Where do you strap your ipad btw? They have an open USB area on the Nano and I fear that sweat may always drop into it and short circuit the player which is why I avoid strapping it to my clothing preferring to attach it to a band around my arms.
