Flowers for sale at Kilauea Farmers MarketWe're in Kauai celebrating our anniversary. Here, farmers markets are very popular. It's always interesting to see the different food offered for sale when you're away from home. We bought a tiny (yes, cute) pineapple, apple bananas, green beans, papaya and purple sweet potatoes. Everything has been delicious!

I don't know if you're near Hanalei Bay, but it's worth the drive. Actually, all of Kauii is beautiful. It'll ruin you for pineapple for the rest of your life, however.

When I visited the big Island several years ago with a galfriend, I loved buying & sampling fruit I'd never seen, & was struck that my galfriend bought bananas & the familiar! Her younger (teen) daughter tried some of my offerings
Later, we spent an afternoon with a friend who lived on the island, & she picked up several local fruits for us to try - it was fun to see them try more things, having been at least intrigued by what I got!
