I've been listening to the audio version of Wheat Belly by William Davis while out on walks. I could be susceptible to medical student syndrome but the doc seems to have compiled a pretty convincing case against wheat gluten in the human diet. During the last chapter I listened to, he suggested conducting a little experiment by going gluten free for a week. That's supposedly enough time to notice a difference.
So what the heck! This is a great time of year to focus on veggies and fruit and not to be baking. BTW - have any GF tips or recipes to share?
Today's disappointing discovery of gluten in an unexpected source: a light Starbuck's frappucinno. Apparently the regular sugary coffee frappucinno's are gluten free but not the light version. I'm going to have to be on my toes!

I've never considered going GF (other than when I run out of bread for a week or so), but I do like the website Gluten-free Goddess for recipe surfing: http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com
Thanks Cammy! I'm trying this to see if it makes any difference with regard to the arthritis in my right pinky finger (often red & swollen these days) and the asthma that popped up this past year. Maybe my hypothyroidism too. Gee, I sound like a wreck. Honestly, I feel pretty good aside from falling apart. ;)
I am a fan of Gluten Free Goddess, too. I don't totally eat gluten free, but have noticed that even a reduction of gluten in my diet has made a difference in how I feel. At least, that's what I think ;)
man the gluten lurks everywhere huh?
Yep, that's what I'm quickly learning. Sneaky peaky gluten.
Summer is the time for fruit and veggies, that's so true. I like to eat lite all summer because cooking is just to much work.lol I also like to stay out of the smelly gyms and I like to do my virtual fitness training at home.
Going gluten free can be a hassle especially to those who don't pay attention to the ingredients (like my dad).
How exactly did you feel after cutting gluten? How about you "Shrink to Fit"?
