it's a beautiful day

Started the day with a 25 mile ride by the river. The weather was perfect, 81 to 86 degrees. Felt very energetic. Even though I handle heat much better than in the past, it still makes a big difference.

Came home and made the highly touted green smoothie. Here's what went into the blender for the inaugural GS:
  • a package of organic baby spinach
  • an organic mango
  • a banana
  • a little orange juice
This made the perfect amount for J & I. We loved it. Delicious!

Thanks to everyone who left recipes for their versions of GS in the comments of the previous post. I'll try them all.

Thanks for posting this recipe. I may give it a try this weekend.

You are just rocking the mileage these days. Wow. I'm impressed.

25 miles in 80+ degrees? Whoa.

86 is too warm or I am too old.
But you go!

Roxie - I hope you like it. Let me know.

Camevil & POD - On the second 30 mile ride last week it was in the 90s, like 96-98 when we finished. I did not do so well. The air quality was pretty sucky too. Maybe that's why the temp today felt like heaven. Plus, the air quality is much better. It's not humid here either. I'm turning into a weather nerd right here, right now. Next, I'll be giving forecasts. Oy!

Hooray for green smoothies! I've gotten addicted to them myself.

And wow, long ride for a warm day!!

Well, 25 miles is a long ride at any temp, but in the high nineties...whoa!

Instead of the green smoothie I had a Swiss chard and tomato salad for breakfast. And yes, I do realize that I am the only person on the planet that would find that more appealing. :-)

You rock on those rides!!!!! I am seeing the green smoothies on the blogs everywhere. Not there yet plus I don't do a lot of smoothies any more these days BUT I may try it yet. Thx for the recipe!
