the time has come

Yesterday, I stepped on the scale and it shocked me by giving this number: 130. Straight up. I had reached my goal weight or rather the lowest weight in my goal weight range. Holy smokes! You know what this means...I have to post the obligatory bikini photo (of Valerie Bertinelli). Here it is:
I'm just like Val except that I'm six months older and a half an inch taller. And, I've never been an actress or been married to an alcoholic rock star. Well, I wasn't paid to lose weight either. I guess we're not alike at all except that we decided to make changes in our lives that would result in being in great shape (maybe the best of our lives) as we head toward the big 50. That's something, I suppose.

Biked 125 miles last week.

ADDED: Just got word that Jillian's Sunday show on KFI is on hiatus. I like to listen to her show while I'm riding. This show on 7/14 gave me goosebumps. The entire show was engaging but the way she started the show gave me such a boost. "You're not doing the world any favors by living small."
Listen to it here

125 miles..that is amazing! I commute every day to work and only manage to rack up 115 kilometers (71 miles). Was that on one epic ride or a series of smaller ones?

But you are a chickenJackSh*t for not posting your pic :-)

Way to go!!!! I haven't been in the 130s since the fifth grade and here you are knocking it out of the park. You earned it - now enjoy it.

Mrs. K - Thanks! I've lost just about 30 pounds.

Jeremy - I would like to do a century ride in the future. I reached 125 by riding 20 to 26 miles several times. Twenty miles is my minimum distance. Working up to 30. I think bike commuting to work is awesome.

Roxie - Thanks. If I had Val's personal trainer, professional make up and hair stylists, and a professional photography session, maybe, just maybe, I could be persuaded to do the bikini shot. Or if I find the right pashmina. ;)

Gigi - Thanks!

Hi BB - thanks for stopping by. It does feel good. :)

You could have at least used photoshop or something to put your head on her body...or maybe the other way around!!

Way to go Lee! And I don't mind sayin' I am a little green. But you certainly worked for it and I am more impressed than ever.

I forgot to say something. :)

I am so bummed about Jillian not being on the radio anymore!! I am hooked on her podcasts (thanks to you, and I mean that in a good way). In fact, I have the 7/14 episode on my iPhone for my next ride.

I battled weight loss most of my life. I am in my thirties and between genetics against me and after 6 pregnancies (although only 4 lived) my hormones are a mess. Each birth drove the scale higher and higher compounded by the hormones moving farther out of whack I fight each day to keep my cravings down and my energy levels up. I think I have tried most diets and even resorted to Phentermine (which side effects I didn’t care for) as well as other drugs and nothing has really helped long term. I have considered bypass surgery as a last resort. I hate the effects of emotional eating making me feel worse only to turn right back to the problem for the answer. I understand the terrible cycle but have been unable to break the habit until just a few recently. I tried a product called SBL Lean from http://www.SmithBryantLabs.com and have since lost 43 pounds, and counting down, at a steady but safe pace rate due to its ability to curb my appetite and my cravings. Loose clothes is a great feeling and a motivation!! I work in a Dr. office so I have a bad habit of getting on the scale too often but I will overcome that. I have more energy and feel more confident each week that passes. I have many more lbs to lose but I see progress and plan to get back to exercising soon and I am very excited for the future. Thank you for sharing your success as this is motivation to me. Good luck and I hope to see you on the road to a safe and healthy life with me.
