salad dressing quest continues

Progress has been made in my quest to find a great, healthy dressing for salads and my current health food crush, broccoli slaw. I'll start with the one I've actually tried: Galeos Miso Ceasar. Oh, baby, this is a good tasting and healthy dressing. I learned about it from Jillian Michaels -- it's her favorite.

Now, here are a couple recipes from blogland:

Hemp Oil Dressing (would this cause a problem with drug testing?)

1 cup hemp oil
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
3 large cloves garlic
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp Himalayan crystal salt

Blend for 30 -45 sec From Crazy Sexy Life

This one is from Lyn at Escape from Obesity:

1 cup apple cider
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Simmer together on med - low heat for about 5 minutes. Add one teaspoon Dijon mustard, some fresh black pepper and a dash of kosher salt. Whisk away!

I always use excellent quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar as dressing (with salt and pepper--sometimes mustard). But when I used to buy dressing, my favorite was Annie's Shitake and Sesame vinaigrette. Yum!

The main thing you want to look out for is sugar content. The closer to 0 the better.

Darya, do you add dry mustard or regular mustard to your balsamic dressing? I love the flavor of Dijon mustard.

I think I'm going to look for a good bottle to keep homemade/freshmade dressing in & start making a basic balsamic vinaigrette like you've described.
