Monday weigh in

Well, let's get right to it. Last week: 145.8. This morning: 144.6. It was a hard fought loss. It amazes me that many can lose a pound overnight. It took a lot of effort to get the scale to move from seven consecutive days in the 145 area. Whew. I don't know if this means the plateau has been broken or if it will continue to be a very slow and challenging crawl to lose the next five pounds and reach my goal. Stay tuned.

BTW - thanks so much for all your support and encouragement over the past several weeks. It has been a big help.

At such a low weight (compared to me and others), you have to expect that every pound will be a battle and every loss will be a monumental success! Congratulations!!

the closer you are to your goal, the slower and harder it will be to work it off.. a loss is a loss is a loss! congrats!

I was going to mimic Cher's words. It gets harder the closer you get but YOU CAN DO IT! Don't give up, don't get discouraged, don't let the plateaus ruin all your hard work!!!! We are with you!

Everyone -

Thanks for the kind and encouraging words. I really, really appreciate it. I'm going to make it to my weight goal eventually but the most important thing is I'm defeating old habits and creating a whole new way of living that's leading to a vibrant, healthy life.

Wow Lee, you got the scale to move and now mine is stuck!! I don't mind playing tag team with ya, but my 50th comes before yours so just keep that in mind! :-)

Congratulations!! Did you do something different? Or just stay persistent?

Patty - I've started to drink more green tea. Also have amped up my workout. Small changes like nonfat organic milk instead of 1% and steamed broccoli with nothing on it instead of the Ina Garten roasted broccoli that has pinenuts, Parmesan cheese & olive oil.
