hey, baby, it's the 4th of July

>> Saturday, July 4, 2009

Can't think of the 4th of July holiday without having Dave Alvin's "Fourth of July" song in mind. Going for a walk with my iPod this morning (wish I was going for a bike ride but it'll be too crazy on the bike path today) and then I'll make this easy peasy Super Light Blueberry Cream Pie from Gina's Weight Watcher Recipes (love her blog!).

Have fun today & whatever you do, don't make eye contact with the potato salad!

[Photo: I took this picture a few years ago while passing through a small California town near the Oregon border. This dog was beyond cool. The scene had a John Mellencamp vibe.]

I love that picture! It's one of those that makes me wish I'd been in that moment. Those are my favorite kinds of photos. :)

Hope your 4th continued on such a high note!

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

Jody - I didn't go for that walk after all. I was a lazy lima bean yesterday. Made up for it today by going on two bike rides.

BTW - When I made that easy, oh so easy blueberry pie, I must have still managed to do something wrong because the texture was kinda too soft. I froze the leftover. It sure tasted great though!
