It's lurve

I finally took my new bike out for a spin today. Although I was winded pretty quickly, I loved riding my bike. To ride my bike, I have to put it on the bike rack and drive a short distance to a walking - biking trail. This is because my house is on a very hilly road. The trail itself is uphill slightly, not bad when you're walking it but definitely noticeable when you're on a bike. The upside is a coasting downhill ride all the way back. So, everyday my challenge will be to get a bit further up the trail before I turn around to coast back to the parking lot. I spent a lot of time riding around in the parking lot today getting used to the bike; ringing the bell and working the gears. I can't believe how excited I feel...

I'm leaning toward naming her Lilly. It's one of my favorite names and there are some sort of flowers on her. Besides, the bike store owner's dog (a sweet dachshund) is named Lilly and she was sure fun to play with during our visits to the store. Thanks for the name suggestions.

YAY! I'm so glad you got to ride! Lilly sounds like a great name. I don't have any hills around my house so even a slight hill nearly stops me in my tracks. I've been switching gears for more resistance to build up strength.

Have fun!

You are so cute! I love that your bike has a bell ... and a name! And thanks for stopping by to check in on me ... I actually did a blog redesign and hadn't gotten the weight thing up when you came by (I SWEAR!!!!). I have it up now and put a little post that I will update every so often. I'm actually doing pretty good and have been losing slowly. I joined SparkPeople.com, which is a great free nutrition, exercise and weight tracking web site. If you aren't familiar with it, you might want to check it out. I love it -- and it has helped me to find a better balance in what I'm eating. Keep checking up on me -- and you'll be able to see easily how I'm doing!
