Monday weigh in

This week is memorable in that I ate a real dessert. Think my last dessert was a piece of birthday cake back in early March when we were visiting Sara in Austin. BTW - I'm not counting pieces of dark chocolate every now and then after dinner. Mainly because, I don't really like dark chocolate (however, it does work to satisfy that craving for something that is nothing like steamed broccoli). The great dessert caper happened at the neighborhood book club Friday night. OK, we're talking cream brulée in a chocolate cup with fresh raspberries. I ate every molecule on the plate. Plus some wine, naturally. I can scarcely remember the book we discussed, but here I am remembering everything about that treat in vivid detail!

Now for some scale talk...Last week I ventured into the 130s -- barely! -- at 139.8. This morning the scale said: 138.4. This is my lowest weight in a long, long time. Feels great!

I'm feeling good about the start to this week. Hope you're having a good start too. I'm trying a strength training class with a friend tomorrow. Are you going to try something new this week?

My hero!!! I'm not kidding Lee, I am so happy and inspired! Dessert, wine, and a new low!! Are you sure you didn't die and go to heaven?? :-)

I had to go double check--you ARE well in your goal range!! I really wish you would do a post telling where you started and how you reached your goals. And of course, including the obligatory Valerie Bertinelli bikini shot. :-)

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting for the weight loss AND your ability to have a dessert & wine & not worry & go right back to your routine! To me, this is a big step! Sometimes just that change in your food, meaning a treat, as long as you don't keep going endlessly, shocks the body to do more. I learned that later rather than earlier... that I can have a cookie or enjoy here & there as long as I controlled it.

Lee, I am so happy for you on all fronts!

Hey and strength training tomorrow! I hope you like it! I had a great weight workout today! Today is all weights for me!

I already tried my new thing this week... my post today explains it... it is a core strength move.... something for me to work towards doing the whole thing but I did not do too bad!

Lee, I am so happy for you on all fronts!

Patty - Thanks! I'm in my goal weight range, but still in loss mode. I'll switch into maintenance once I hit 135. I feel so fortunate to reach my goal in May as the weather heats up. I'm finding all these shorts and tops I had abandoned that now fit (some baggy even.)

I've been holding off posting Valerie's bikini shot, but if you insist. ;)

Thanks for all your support!

Jody - I'll have to mosey by and check out your new core strength move. It's so great to find out a dessert every five months or so doesn't mean the end of the world! Or, is my body out to trick me?! ;)

Thanks for the kind words of support.

I'm so happy for you! And proof that having dessert doesn't blow everything. I love it!

Is that what it takes to be THAT tiny? No dessert?
Forget it!
But congrats to you and your no-dessert-having life.

I think my right arm weighs in the 130s.

POD - Dessert was never my downfall, my true over-eating weight gain food is cheese. The only thing I got out of "Skinny Bitch" is how addictive cheese is. It was my crack.
