What we think...we become

Heading out to try out my new ryka walking shoes. Read a few things this morning I'll mull over during the walk:

This is going to make for some great Sunday reading. Thanks! I already read the first one and am not surprised. Food portions have increased over time, we eat more processed foods than we should, and refined sugars have found a way into practically every prepared food we eat.

I scanned the 1st article, and it reminds me that somewhere I read or heard that weight loss was 80% diet and 20% exercise. And when you look a the numbers, that seems to hold true. I bet I consumed over 2000 calories yesterday, maybe even close to 3000 in 30 minutes. And I didn't have crazy large portions or go back for seconds. But it would take 4 to 6 hours of intense exercise for me to burn that off.

I'll bookmark the other articles and read them too. hope you had a good walk! How do you like your new shoes? I need some.

Patty - I've been trying to remember where I read that too: 80% what you eat & 20% exercise. I think it was Tosca Reno.

The new ryka walking shoes are great! I highly recommend them. The pair I bought were reduced $20 and the Ryka website offered free shipping.

Thanks Lee! I love the *tweet* you passed on from Tosca! It drives the point home, doesn't it? And I am going to have to try on some Rykas and see if they work with my chunky feet! :-)
